300mm (12″) X 50mm (2″) Loop Over

A 50mm (2″) Loop over is used on pairs of flat top, standard frame gates to keep them securely closed by joining both gate tops. However, it is not possible to use a loop over on all styles of standard frame gates or on gates over 1.5m (5′) high. Please check with our sales team for suitability.
This size of loop over is not suitable for use with heavy frame gates or 5 Bar field style gates.

Fitting

It is important that the pivot bolt is fitted in the correct place on the top rail. Check carefully before drilling the bolt hole that the loop over will be able to pivot freely over the tops of both gate stiles.
A properly fitted loop over can also help to keep a pair of gates in line and reduce the risk of the gates warping badly.

A drop bolt must be fitted to at least one gate. For pairs of gates, we strongly recommend that both gates are fitted with drop bolts. This helps to hold the gates in line with each other at the bottom as well.
