More Information

Crestala’s Blackham domed top tongue and groove gates are manufactured on-site in our workshop by skilled Gatemakers. We can make special sizes.

Blackham domed top gates manufactured by Crestala are robust yet offer excellent value for money. The timber used is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing  Scandinavian redwood. The treatment provides good protection against rot and also insect attack.

For Blackham gate widths over 1.2m wide, we recommend using a heavy frame gate like the Withyham range. Please contact our Sales Team for more information.

We can supply all the fittings you need to hang and secure your new Blackham gate. We recommend fitting adjustable hinges to alleviate any seasonal gate movement.

If you are unsure about measuring for a gate, please read our blog, Measuring for new side or entrance gates which provides guidance on the measuring process, or speak to a member of our Sales Team.

Blackham tongue and groove gates made by Crestala need to be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may invalidate any future claims.

All treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the timber expands & contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered to be a defect unless very severe.

*Measurements before the wood is planed. It’s roughly 5mm smaller than the original size.
