A Centre Stump helps to keep the Gravel Board in line with the Feather Edge or palisades. Stumps also provide some support to the middle of the bay. ( A bay is the fencing between two posts)
The angled end of the Centre Stump is fixed with galvanised nails or exterior wood screws to the bottom Arris rail. Two fasteners are also used to attach it to the Gravel board.
