More Information

Crestala’s Fordcombe Entrance Gates are manufactured on-site in our workshop by skilled Gatemakers.

We can make special sizes of this popular concave top, tongue and groove entrance gate.

All Fordcombe entrance gates manufactured by Crestala are made to be robust yet offer excellent value for money. The timber used is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing Scandinavian redwood. The treatment provides good protection against rot and insect attack.

All Fordcombe gates supplied by Crestala must be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may invalidate any future claims.

Other tongue and groove entrance gates manufactured by Crestala include the Hartfield, The Withyham, the Eridge and the Langton.

We also manufacture a range of standard frame tongue and groove domestic gates, the Penshurstthe LeighThe Holtyethe Ashurstthe Blackham and the Frant.

For help with measuring up for your new gates, see our Blog entry Measuring for new side or entrance gates.

We stock Gate fittings for all sizes of our tongue and groove Fordcombe entrance gates. In addition, we recommend fitting adjustable hinges to alleviate seasonal gate movement. Please contact our Sales Team for information on the options available.

It should be noted that all treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the timber expands & contracts during the normal weathering process. However, this is not considered to be a defect unless very severe.

*Measurements before the wood is planed. It’s roughly 5mm smaller than the original size.
