The Mayfield curved top is a classic style entrance gate.
Each Mayfield untreated softwood entrance gate is made by skilled gate makers using joinery grade, slow-growing redwood.
With 70mm thick vertical stiles and a 40mm thick frame in between, these gates are made to be stylish and very robust.
All Mayfield curved top gates have a flush heavy bottom rail suitable for automation.
Mayfield entrance gates are priced PER PAIR.
Examples prices shown below are all for 1.89m high pairs of gates.
Other heights, widths and single gates are available; please contact us for price and availability.
It is important that Mayfield gates made from untreated Softwood are stored, treated & cared for properly prior to hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructions.
When the gates are unwrapped, they should be treated straight away if possible and certainly before they are exposed to the elements. Take care to treat all surfaces with preserver and UV oil, particularly the bottom, all end grain & any holes etc., for gate hardware. The gates should be checked at least twice annually and retreated with UV oil if required.
If the gates are not to be fitted immediately, then they must be kept out of direct sunlight, stored flat or stood up against a wall with both stiles touching the wall.
All of our untreated softwood gates are supplied with a base coat treatment (specify clear or green) which provides some basic protection against fungal attack and blue stain.
IT IS IMPORTANT that Mayfield untreated softwood gates are further protected with two coats of a good quality wood preservative, particularly the underside and all end grain, before applying two coats of your selected UV wood oil.
All untreated softwood gates supplied by Crestala must be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may invalidate any future claims.
Cheaper fence and shed treatments are NOT suitable for treating these gates.
A comprehensive range of gate fittings is available from stock.
We can supply a range of treated softwood posts or hardwood posts if you prefer to compliment your gates. Our team will be able to advise you on suitability.
All wooden gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered a defect unless very severe.
Crestala Fencing Centre will not accept responsibility for any costs or problems caused by incorrect storage, gates hung badly, or failure to treat the gates thoroughly and properly with both preservative and topcoat. This does not affect your statutory rights.
The colour of the timber used to make these gates may vary.
The framework configuration may vary from that shown.
Gates pictured may have been stained. Your gates colour and finish will depend on your choice of treatments.
