More Information

Ninfield Swoop Top Entrance Gates made with long-lasting Iroko Hardwood

The Ninfield Swoop Top entrance gate with a sturdy frame and thick tongue and groove boarding. Our Ninfield entrance gate is made by skilled gate makers using Iroko timber from West Africa and harvested responsibly. Iroko is a very durable wood, resistant to rot and insect attack. With 70mm thick vertical stiles, a 40mm thick frame in between and covered in 19mm thick tongue and groove boards, these gates are made to be stylish and robust. All Ninfield swoop top entrance gates have a flush heavy bottom rail suitable for automation.

Ninfield Swoop top entrance gates are priced PER PAIR. Examples prices shown are all for 1.89m high pairs of gates. Other heights, widths and single gates are available, please contact us for price and availability.

Ninfield gates made from Iroko must be stored & cared for properly before hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructions.

If the gates are not to be fitted immediately, they must be kept out of direct sunlight, stored flat or stood up against a wall with both stiles touching the wall evenly.

Hardwood Iroko can be left untreated. It will eventually change to a silver-grey colour.
If you wish to preserve the more natural colour of the timber and help keep your gate in good condition, treat it twice a year with good quality UV wood oil. Other wood oils, such as Danish Oil or Teak oil, can also help. Use a lint-free cloth or natural bristle brush to apply the oil evenly all over the gate following the grain. Carefully treat all surfaces with your chosen oil, particularly the bottom, all end grain, holes, etc., for gate hardware.

All Iroko gates supplied by Crestala must be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging.  Please, read the recommendations on our “Important Gate Care Information” sheet for more detailed instructionsFailure to follow these instructions may invalidate any future claims.

When the gates are unwrapped, they should ideally be treated straight away, if possible, before they are exposed to the elements.
Cheap fence and shed treatments are NOT suitable for treating these gates.
The gates should be checked at least twice annually and reoiled if required.

A comprehensive range of gate fittings is available from stock.

We can supply a range of treated softwood or hardwood posts if you prefer to compliment your gates. Our team will be able to advise you on suitability.

Conditions of sale for gates

All wooden gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered a defect unless very severe.

Crestala Fencing Centre will not accept responsibility for any costs or problems caused by incorrect storage, gates hung badly, or failure to look after or treat the gates. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Important notes:
  • The colour of the timber used to make these gates may vary.
  • The framework configuration may vary from that shown.
