125mm x 125mm treated softwood posts, 2.4m long with a pyramid top or 3.0m long with square ends. Our 125 x 125mm posts are pressure-treated to UC4 for in-ground contact. These posts are usually used for fencing in exposed areas where a stronger post is needed or for hanging medium-sized domestic gates.

Materials:Pressure treated softwood. Posts are pressure treated with the latest generation preservatives to UC4 standard for in-ground contact. To extend the life of fence posts, you may want to consider adding a timber treatment or wood preserver that can add extra protection to the part of the post going into the ground.
How to Use

125 x 125mm posts for fencing or medium-sized gates should be set a minimum of 750mm (2ft-6in) into the ground, ideally 900mm (3ft).

If you can, we do recommend adding an extra treatment to any timber that is in contact with the ground, particularly from 100mm (4") above ground level to 450mm (18") below ground level. 
Installation Tips

125mm x 125mm (5in x 5in) posts are commonly used for fencing in exposed areas or as gate posts for wider domestic side gates.
Posts of this size, whether for fencing or gates, are usually secured with concrete, and a hole depth of 90cm is recommended.

We have both fast-setting post mix and the more traditional Ballast and cement to make up a dry mix. Either of these options is suitable for securely fixing 150mm x 100mm fence posts in position if needed.
