Crestala Sturdy Closeboard Fence Panel

The Crestala sturdy, fully framed closeboard panel is an excellent-quality, strong fencing panel, handcrafted in our workshops. They are suitable for both front and back gardens, providing privacy and security.

The frame is screwed together, unlike many other closeboard panels, which are just tacked together with nails or made with only horizontal rails. This makes our panels very strong and suitable for more exposed fences. Additionally, the vertical side frame makes it easy and very secure to fix with external-grade wood screws to suitable treated wooden posts. (Ideally at least 10cm x 10cm) To increase the lifespan of your panels, we recommend fitting them over a 150mm or 300mm Gravel Board.

All the wood used to make up these quality panels is pressure-treated green before assembly. There will be some colour variation. The panel in the picture has been in the sun and changed to the standard honey-bronze of all green-treated timber exposed to sunlight. The feather-edge boards we use are 100mm wide, so a 6' wide panel has more vertical slats, making the panel stronger.

All Crestala Sturdy Closeboard Panels are made to order. This allows us to offer 3'-6", 4'-6" and 5'-6" special heights for fitting over a gravel board.

For longer fence runs or if the ground is not flat, buying your closeboard in kit form can be more economical. Ask for a comparative quote.

Product Specifications

Materials:

All of the wood used in this panel is pressure treated to provide maximum panel life. The panel is boarded vertically using our standard 2ex 100 x 22 feather edge, giving the look of a traditional Closeboard fence but with the ease of a panel. At 1.83m(6') wide, they can easily replace a standard overlap fence panel utilising existing wooden or concrete slotted posts.

How to Use

Crestala Sturdy Closeboard Panels will fit into any standard concrete slotted post and can be secured with panel security brackets.

For wooden posts, the closeboard panels are attached with four 75 to 100 mm external woodscrews through each of the vertical frame sides into the posts.

For DuraPost, you screw through the predrilled holes in the "H" section post using 38mm external wood screws. Four screws on each side.

On concrete slotted posts, the panels will drop into the slot.

Measuring & Quantity Calculations

Crestala closeboard panels standard width is 1.83m(6') wide. We can manufacture shorter widths or non-standard heights to order.

Installation Tips

Use size 8 to 10 (4 to 5mm) self-drilling wood screws, as this reduces the risk of splitting the timber, or pre-drill with a small-diameter drill.
