Adjustable Hanging Set for field gates

Suitability

This adjustable hanging set is suitable for 75mm (3″) wooden field gates hung on wooden posts.

There are three sizes to suit gates widths from 900mm (3′) to 4.3m (14′) gates.

This set can be used for hanging gates either between or behind the posts.

Tools

You will need a 19mm auger to drill a hole through the post for the hook to bolt and the gate hanging stile for the bottom adjustable ride.

A 10mm drill bit at least 100 long is required to drill the holes for the top strap fixing bolts through the top bar.

A  selection of spanners/adjustable wrenches.  As the nut and bolt sizes can vary, please check the spanner and drill sizes required when you receive your set.

Security

To make it harder for your gates to be stolen, it is normal practice to reverse one of the pins that the top and bottom rides fit onto. This means that the gate(s) cannot just be lifted off the hinge pins and removed. It does not matter which; personally, I prefer reversing the top pin so that the pins are facing each other. I think this looks neater.
