How to Use

Knock the posts using a Post-rammer or a Maul.

Half-round rails are attached to posts using galvanised nails or 75 to 100-mm screws suitable for external use. (2 per rail per post)

The posts are normally set at 1.8m centres. This allows for a post at either end and in the centre of each standard 3.6m (12') rail.

We recommend using the 110mm machined half-round posts, however you can use 100mm for a lighter fence.

Measuring & Quantity Calculations

The bays are normally 1.8m post centres, so divide the fence length by 1.8 to get the number of bays. Add one to the number of bays, and that is how many posts you need.

For one rail, multiply the number of bays by 0.5 to get the number of rails required.
For two rails, the number of bays will equal the number of rails required.
For three rails, multiply the number of bays by 1.5 for the number of rails required.

Installation Tips

To make the fence stronger, if you are using more than one rail, stagger the rail joints on the posts. Cut one rail in half and use a half rail to start off the fence's second rail.
