Reflective Acoustic Fencing With Vertical Boards

This style of reflective acoustic fencing uses wooden materials to build a continuous, vertically boarded fence, with the joints covered by a second row of vertical boards. The fence is finished with a capping rail. Although it has not been officially tested, when installed correctly, this type of fence has been demonstrated to reduce noise levels.

To increase the lifespan and/or reduce the depth of the fence, use galvanised DuraPost instead of wooden posts. 

Installing this acoustic-style fence is within the capability of an experienced DIY enthusiast.

The acoustic reducing effectiveness of this basic design depends heavily on three factors:

*How far the fence is from the noise source.

*The height of the fence.

*How well the fence is assembled, with no holes or gaps.
