125mm x 100mm (5in x 4in) Treated Timber Fence Posts

We stock 125mm x 100mm (5" x 4") treated softwood posts in heights from 2.4m (8ft) up to 3.6m (12ft), suitable for fencing, decking frame supports, or gate posts. These posts are pressure-treated to UC4 for in-ground use.

We also offer Mortised (morticed) 125mm x 100mm posts for Closeboard and Palisade (Picket) fencing. Our mortised posts can be machined to match existing posts for fence repairs. 12.5cm x 10cm Mortised posts for closeboard and picket fencing.

All our 5" x 4" posts have square ends (flat) as standard. 
Any 125 x 100mm post can have corner (edge) chamfering, different tops, or router lines added if desired. Please use the Made to Measure Sizes section below to tell us what you need, and we will email you a quote.

How to Use

Here's a bit more general information about our wooden 12.5cm x 10cm Fence and Gate Post

Edge chamfering, different post tops and router lines can be added to softwood posts if desired.

If you can, we do recommend adding an extra treatment to any timber that is in contact with the ground, particularly from 100mm (4") above ground level to 450mm (18") below ground level. 
Installation Tips

We have both fast-setting post mix and the more traditional 20mm Ballast and cement for making a dry mix. Either of these options is suitable for securely fixing 125 x 100mm fence or gate posts in position.

5" x 4" posts are normally used in more exposed areas or for higher fences, and for this reason, we recommend that the holes for these posts be a minimum of 750mm deep to give the fence a good, solid footing.
