Square, Treated Timber Fence Posts

We stock a large selection of treated square softwood posts in various heights and sections suitable for fencing, decking frame supports, or gate posts. Unless otherwise stated, all our posts are pressure-treated to UC4 for in-ground use.

Our range of square fence and gate posts covers most standard heights from 1.5 meters (5 feet) to 3.6 meters (12 feet), in a wide range of sizes from 75mm (3") x 75mm square, up to 200mm (8") x 200mm square.

We also offer Mortised (morticed) posts for Closeboard and Palisade (Picket) fencing. Our mortised posts can be machined to match existing posts for fence repairs.

All posts have square ends (flat) as standard unless stated otherwise. Other Post Tops (post weathers) can be added on request.
Any square-cut post can have corner (edge) chamfering and/or router lines added if desired.

Plain posts are stocked items. Special lengths and tops can usually be cut within 24 hrs , but may take longer during busy periods.
Product Specifications
Materials:Pressure treated softwood. Unless stated otherwise, all posts are pressure treated with the latest generation preservatives to UC4 standard for in-ground contact.To extend the life of the fence and gate posts, you may want to consider adding a timber treatment or wood preserver that can add extra protection to the part of the post going into the ground.
How to Use

Here's a bit more general information about our wooden Square Fence and Gate Posts.

Softwood posts all have square ends (flat) as standard, except Gate Posts (150 mm, 175mm, and 200mm), which are four-way weathered (pyramid top) on one end as standard. 

Edge chamfering and router lines can be added to softwood posts if desired.

Protect the top of your post with a Metal post cap or a standard Wooden post cap.

If you can, we do recommend adding an extra treatment to any timber that is in contact with the ground, particularly from 100mm (4") above ground level to 450mm (18") below ground level. 
Installation Tips

We have both fast-setting post mix and the more traditional Ballast and cement to make up a dry mix. Either of these options is suitable for securely fixing fence or gate posts in position.
