Rotherfield Closeboard Gates

Crestala's Rotherfield closeboard gates are manufactured on-site in our workshop by our skilled gate makers to be robust yet offer excellent value for money.
The frame's timber is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing Scandinavian redwood. The treatment offers effective protection against rot and insect infestations.

Heights of 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.5m, and 1.8m, at a width of 0.9m, are stocked. All heights of 1.05m and 1.2m wide gates, as well as 1.05m and 1.95m high at 0.9m wide, are made to order. Lead times may vary, but they are usually a few days. If time is critical, please contact our Sales Team before placing your order.

 We can make special widths and heights; please refer to the Made to Measure Sizes section below.

How to Use

Rotherfield gates should be hung on a minimum of 100 x 100mm posts.
We recommend hanging the gate on Adjustable hooks and rides as they allow for easy removal of any seasonal timber movement.
If security is important to you, then we would recommend fitting a Long Throw Lock, or if ease of access is more important, then use a ring latch with a Brenton Bolt.

We recommend using a heavy frame gate for gate widths over 1.2m wide, like our Groombridge gates. Please contact our Sales Team for more information.

All treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the regular, natural weathering process. This is not considered to be a defect unless it is very severe.

All Rotherfield Closeboard gates manufactured by Crestala need to be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our "Crestala Gate Care Information" sheet for more detailed instructions.
