Pressure Treated Softwood Tongue and Groove Gates
Crestala’s pressure-treated Tongue and Groove Gates are manufactured on-site in our workshop by our skilled Gatemakers. We can make special sizes on request. All of the treated tongue and groove gates manufactured by Crestala are designed and made to be robust yet offer excellent value for money. The timber used is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing Scandinavian redwood. The preservative added to the timber by the pressure treatment process provides good protection against rot or insect attack. Cosmetic treatments can be added later if desired, once the timber has dried out. A full range of gate fittings is available from stock. All treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the wood) as the timber dries out after the initial pressure treatment or expands & contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered to be a defect unless very severe. All Closeboard gates supplied by Crestala must be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging. Please, read the recommendations on our "Important Gate Care Information" sheet for more detailed instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may invalidate any future claims.
