Hartfield Swish Top Entrance Gates are crafted on-site at Crestala's workshop by our expert gate makers, allowing us to produce gates that fit perfectly and look attractive at the end of your driveway. These tongue-and-groove-boarded gates are sturdy and offer excellent value for your money.

The standard sizes are priced below, but we can create special widths and heights. Please refer to the Made-to-Measure Sizes section below.

Product Specifications

Materials:

All Hartfield entrance gates manufactured by Crestala are robust yet offer excellent value for money. The timber used is pressure-treated, joinery-grade, slow-growing Scandinavian redwood. The treatment provides good protection against rot and insect attacks. *Measurements before the wood is planed. It’s roughly 5mm smaller than the original size.

How to Use

Hartfield swish-top gates are heavy and need to be supported by good solid posts or brick piers. If you have existing posts, please check them for security before fitting your new gates.

Gate fittings for all the different sizes of Hartfield gates are available. We recommend using an adjustable hinge set to support our heavy-frame gates. If you are unsure which type or size of hinge you need for your gates, please ask one of our team members, who will advise you.

Recommended Aftercare

Hartfield Swish Top Gates gates made by Crestala must be stored, treated and cared for properly before and after hanging.

Please read our Crestala Gate Care Information help sheet for guidance on looking after your new gates.

All treated softwood gates are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (cracks in the timber) as the wood expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. This is not considered to be a defect unless it is very severe. Fitting adjustable hinges can help alleviate some of the natural seasonal gate movement.
