Palisade and Picket Fencing Supplies

Palisade fencing (British) or Picket fencing (American) is the same style of fence and is very popular as front or back-garden boundary fencing, particularly where a solid fence is not needed or desired. Palisade Fencing can also be used to partition off parts of the garden, such as the veggie patch, from children and pets. Matching gates and all the gate fittings are also available.

All our Palisade-Picket fence materials are pressure-treated with preservatives for increased durability. We recommend applying a coat of UV wood oil to our pressure-treated fencing when it is new, and then reoiling it each year. This oiling helps to minimise the effects of natural weathering and keeps your fence looking good for longer. For more options, see our sheet on Looking after pressure-treated fencing. To achieve the traditional cottage-style fence, it can be treated with a coloured external paint instead of oil. Ideally, the fence should be left for several months to allow the pressure treatment to dry out before recoating. It is best to avoid dark colours, as they attract heat, which might cause additional movement in the timber.
