More Information
We have in stock a full range of softwood peeled and pointed round posts. These posts are sometimes called by the generic name of Cundy posts. All are treated using the latest generation preservatives to UC4 standard for in-ground contact.
The posts are just peeled (the bark is taken off) and are generally thicker at the pointed end.
Peeled (Cundy) posts are mostly used for supporting the many types of netting, from the lighter rabbit netting to 2m high deer fence.
Extra Treatment
To further extend the life of your peeled posts you can add additional protection to the post in the ground-level area which is susceptible to rot with a layer of Bitumen protective treatment or wood preserver.
Please Note
All treated softwood peeled round posts are susceptible to natural movement or shaking (vertical cracks in the wood) as the timber expands and contracts during the normal weathering process. These problems do not usually affect the structural integrity of the post and will mostly disappear when colder, moist weather returns. This is not considered to be a defect unless very severe.
