Closeboard Fencing
Closeboard Fencing (often called Shiplap or Featheredge fencing) is a versatile and robust solid fence suitable for domestic and garden fencing or security around commercial properties. When assembled correctly, Closeboard fencing is aesthetically pleasing and lasts well. In addition, it is comparatively easy to construct and repair and is well within the capability of the average DIY enthusiast.
Our workshop will mortise a range of wooden posts to match your closeboard fencing order. Alternatively, for longer-lasting posts, we have a range of mortised concrete posts or the metal "H" section DuraPost. Any of these three types of posts is suitable for this style of fencing. Featheredge style fencing can easily cope with the sloping ground or slight variations in the fence line. For a fence that changes height, steps up or down or has changes in level across the fence line, we usually specify the use of our wooden mortised posts, which can be prepared in our workshop to match your fence line. However, DuraPost is very versatile and offers a long-lasting alternative that is easily adjusted on-site. Need a little more information? Then check out our Closeboard Fencing Materials & Information help sheet. Alternatively, you can talk to our Team by phone for more help or information or email us with a question. We can supply all the infill materials and accessories needed to make assembling your closeboard fence easier. Note: As an alternative to making up a Closeboard from a kit, Closeboard Panels are available and can be used with treated softwood Posts, Slotted Concrete Posts or metal DuraPost.
